Dr. Seillier-Moiseiwitsch joined the GUMC in September 2004 after spending three years at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County as the Director of the Bioinformatics Research Center. She is classically trained as a mathematical statistician and has been working in the area of statistical genetics and bioinformatics for over fifteen years. She has long-standing collaborations with genetic epidemiologists and virologists. She is highly experienced in designing statistical plans for genomic, proteomic and mutation studies. Her research interests are in predictive model selection and in statistical methodology for genomics, functional genomics and proteomics. Her development of novel analytical methods and software for the analysis of 2D gels and mass spectrometry profiles is currently funded by an NIH R01 grant. She serves on NIH and NSF review panels, referees papers for several bioinformatics and biostatistics journals, and has been invited to present her research at numerous venues. Her research funding has been continuous since 1989 and includes grants (National Science Foundation, American Foundation for AIDS Research, National Institutes of Health, Pediatric AIDS Foundation) and contracts (Pfizer Central Research, LabCorp of America).
