DIVISIONS

• Women’s, Men’s, Co-ed leagues exist for the majority of the Sport Leagues over various time blocks throughout the week.  Co-ed teams have minimum female and male participation and roster requirements.  Open leagues are available for select leagues and have no minimum requirement for either gender.
Participants are limited to 1 roster spot per sport per gender division per season and 1 roster spot per sport per co-ed/open division per season (e.g. you can play men’s and co-ed or open but you cannot play for two men’s teams).

Rec. – designed with emphasis on fun, participation, fitness, and socializing
Comp. – designed for those seeking a more competitive experience
Super-Comp. – designed for those seeking more highly skilled and organized team competition

Badminton
Badminton is quickly growing as one of the more popular sports on campus.  Between drop in and our badminton club there are hundreds of students taking part in this fun game.  So come join us for one of the fastest growing sports on campus! Leagues are offered in the fall and winter. 
 
Ball Hockey  
Intramural Sports offers ball hockey leagues in both the fall and winter semesters. Fall is outdoors in the 'O-Rink', winter is in the new Rec Centre. Intramural Sports offers players a wide selection of leagues to choose from. League times vary so register early to guarantee your spot.

Basketball  
Intramural Sports offers basketball players a wide selection of leagues to choose from. Most leagues are tiered to allow you to select the type of competition you want. Basketball leagues are offered in the fall, winter and summer semesters. In the fall and winter players can participate in men's, women's and co-ed leagues.

Dodgeball
Dodge Ball is an incredibly popular and fun way to bond as a team, meet new people, and get in some deserved stress relief! Dodgeball leagues are offered in the fall and winter semesters. 

European Handball
This co-ed sport of 6 on 6 introduces the skill and fun of soccer, mixed with basketball, mixed with... well, you'll just need to try it out! Intramural Sports offers European handball leagues in both the fall and winter semesters.

Flag Football
Intramural Sports offers two seasons of flag football during the fall and winter semesters. Flag allows for a faster more dynamic air attack game.  If you have played with us in the past please check out the new rules.

Futsal
Due to the popularity and demand of our outdoor soccer leagues, we've added futsal to the fall line-up! Futsal is a skilful variation of indoor soccer, but played within the lines as opposed to against the walls.  Futsal leagues are offered in the fall and winter semesters.

Ice Hockey  
Intramural Sports offers ice hockey leagues in the fall that continue through the winter term, with a full season consisting of 12 regular season games plus playoffs.  A wide selection of leagues are offered, with players having the opportunity to participate in Men’s non-contact, or contact leagues at recreational or competitive levels, Men’s Contact leagues at super competitive levels, Women’s leagues at recreational or competitive levels and Open non-contact leagues at recreational or competitive levels.

Inner-tube Water Polo
Inner-tube Water Polo is played in the wonderful new Western Student Recreation Centre 50 metre pool (but we will split the pool in two sections, don't worry!). One of the most popular, fun, and surprisingly challenging sports leagues. Intramural Sports offers inner-tube water polo leagues in both the fall and winter semesters.

Shinny Ice Hockey
Shinny ice hockey is an "organized pick-up" hockey league where full equipment is required. Players show up and divide themselves into teams and play self-officiated ice hockey. Leagues are offered in Thompson Arena on Tuesdays and Thursdays from either 2:30-3:20pm or 3:30-4:20pm.

Slo-Pitch

Intramural softball is a summer, fall and winter semester tradition at Western. People of all skill levels fall in love with this game and the dynamic mixture of experience and enthusiasm creates an exhilarating atmosphere on the field. For a purely relaxing and recreational experience please check out our 3-pitch option.

3-Pitch  
Intramural 3-pitch is a summer and fall semester tradition at Western. People of all skill levels fall in love with this game and the dynamic mixture of experience and enthusiasm creates an exhilarating atmosphere on the field. For a more competitive game please check out our slo-pitch options.

Soccer  
Many divisions and opportunities for one of Western Intramural Sports most popular fall leagues. Games are played on TD Waterhouse, on either the practice fields adjacent to the rec centre and both Huron East and West fields behind TD Waterhouse.

Volleyball  
Intramural Sports offers volleyball players a wide selection of leagues to choose from. Leagues are offered in the fall and winter semesters. Volleyball is a great team sport and regardless of your skill or experience intramural sports has a league for you.

Ultimate Frisbee   
Intramural Sports offers ultimate frisbee leagues in both the summer and fall semesters.  Ultimate is a great team game involving disc skills and fitness and sportsmanship play is encouraged at all times as there are no officials. Co-ed ultimate is played with 7 players on the field 3 of which must be female. Whether you are new to the sport or an experienced player the IMS ultimate league is sure to catch your fancy.
