Italy Ready to Help in the Rebuilding of Libya
Italy will be sending a team of experts to Libya discuss how to disburse the €2.5 billion in frozen Libyan assets that it has authorisation to unfreeze in order to find out the best way to help the Libyan people to rebuild the country to rebuild after a lengthy conflict that eventually overthrew former leader Muammar Al Qathafi from power.

Human Rights Watch called on Libya's new rulers, the National Transitional Council, NTC, to work to stop militia groups from making arbitrary arrests and abusing detainees in prisons and makeshift detention facilities across western Libya.

With Libya's interim administration pledging to restore calm and remove heavy weapons from the streets of Tripoli, Ahmed Bani, Libya's National Transitional Council’s military spokesman, told reporters that heavy weapons have no place in the Libyan capital.

Bahrain: Medics Who Treated Protesters Jailed

Bahrain has jailed 20 medics up to 15 years, after convicting them of incitement to overthrow the regime. The medics were arrested after they treated people injured when a protest movement calling for more rights was crushed by the authorities.
