Abbas to Europe, Latin America over UN statehood bid

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas flew to Europe on Tuesday to kick off a week-long tour which will also take him to Latin America to shore up support for his UN membership bid, Agence France-Presse reported.

    The newly released report by New York-based Human Rights Watch and Tamkeen Centre for Legal Aid in Amman has concluded that the essence of the issue of mistreatment of migrant domestic workers in the Kingdom does not lie as much in the lack of appropriate legislation as in the fact that the laws, admittedly not sufficient, are not being faithfully and effectively applied.
