Sewailam, the talented Egyptian bass-baritone, sings the role of the high priest Ramfis in Virginia Opera's production of Aida, being performed throughout the month of October in Norfolk, Richmond and Fairfax (Virginia).

The opera is directed by Lillian Groag, the Virginia Symphony conducted by John Demain in addition to the Richmond Ballet.

The production includes international singers in a cast comprising: soprano Mary Elizabeth Williams as Aida, baritone Fikile Mvinjelwa as Amonasro, bass Nathan Stark as the King of Egypt, bass-baritone Ashraf Sewailam as Ramfis and tenor Gustavo Lopez Manzitti as Radames.
