Nancy Shevell and Paul McCartney are married

Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell tied the knot Sunday afternoon in London with plenty of fans and paparazzi on hand afterward to commemorate the occasion.
McCartney, 69, and Shevell, 51, married at Old Marylebone Hall, the same venue where the Beatle wed his first wife, Linda McCartney, in 1969. Both McCartney and Shevell wore items created especially for them by McCartney’s daughter Stella — People reports that his navy blue suit and Shevell’s modest, chic long-sleeve dress and shoes were both made by the designer. McCartney’s daughter Beatrice, 7 — the only child from his second marriage to Heather Mills — acted as the flower girl. Guests at the intimate ceremony included fellow Beatle Ringo Starr and his wife, Barbara Bach; Olivia Harrison, widow of George Harrison; and Barbra Walters, Shevell’s cousin.
The nuptials were not exactly a surprise — three weeks ago, an official notice, or banns, was posted in England, indicated that the couple, who announced their engagement in May, were planning to marry sometime after Sept. 30. Previous reports from the Associated Press and other outlets suggested this weekend would be the weekend, as preparations for the reception, to be held Sunday night at McCartney’s home, became apparent to reporters late last week. The marriage is the third for McCartney and the second for Shevell, who is a vice-president of New England Motor Freight and The Shevell Group of Companies and was previously married to attorney and one-time New York Senate candidate Bruce Blakeman.
