Sandro Vendemmia outside his jewelry store in Kensington. Vendemmia ran the store for more than 25 years. In April 2010, the 77-year-old Vendemmia shot a robber who charged him in his store, police say. Disturbed by the incident, he closed his store shortly thereafter.
