MADINAH: Municipal inspectors arrested an Arab expatriate found selling rotten meat to restaurants in Madinah on Sunday.
The inspectors also seized a large quantity of rotten meat the man carried in a pickup truck. He is accused of violating municipal regulations governing hygiene and sale of foodstuffs.
Director of markets at Madinah municipality Muhammad Solaihem said 70 kilograms of meat was seized from the expatriate.
As the inspectors found records of him dealing with a number of restaurants, they checked the restaurants to ensure they did not use rotten meat. They also took penal measures against the restaurants for buying meat from a doubtful source.
