Board Member
John C. Wohlstetter is a senior fellow for technology and society with Discovery Institute, where he specializes in public policy and socio-cultural analysis, focusing on telecommunications and the Internet. Prior to joining Discovery Institute in 2001, he served as director of technology affairs for GTE Corporation, where he was responsible for strategic assessment of technology, regulatory, and market trends.
Wohlstetter holds a Masters in public policy (telecommunications) from The George Washington University; a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Fordham University School of Law; and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami.
He also holds several board positions including: the National Foundation for Facial Reconstruction, the National Symphony Orchestra Association, Hudson Institute, and the Billy Rose Foundation.
Wohlstetter's articles and book reviews have appeared in many publications including: Infrastructure; New Telecom Quarterly; Leaders; Journal of Contemporary Studies; and Across the Board.
He is the author of the issues blog Letter from the Capitol. He is also the author of The Long War Ahead and the Short War Upon Us (Discovery Institute Press, 2008), a book examining issues arising out of the September 11, 2001 attacks on America.
