David Wilson

David  Wilson

David Wilson is a Bloomberg News columnist and co-host of "Taking Stock" on Bloomberg Radio. Wilson produces a daily “Chart of the Day” story, which highlights key developments in U.S. financial markets, business, and the economy.

Wilson joined Bloomberg News in 1990, as the second stock market reporter ever hired for Bloomberg's New York bureau. During his tenure, he has served in several capacities, including bureau chief in New York and Princeton, editor-in-charge of global training, and managing editor for global stock markets.

Wilson became a columnist at Bloomberg News in 2000. From 2007-08, he wrote the Timshel column, a commentary on global business and market events, before developing the column into “Chart of the Day.” Wilson also co-authored an edition of “The Bloomberg Way,” Bloomberg's in-house guide to business and financial journalism.

rior to joining Bloomberg, Wilson worked for the Dow Jones News Service where he rose from news assistant to stock market reporter. His first reports chronicled the aftermath of the infamous “Black Monday” crash in 1987.

Wilson's journalism career began at The Asbury Park Press as an editorial assistant and pop-music writer during his college years at Monmouth University. He holds a degree in English with a concentration in media studies, and a MBA from Rider University. He is based in New York City.
