Queen star Brian May pays tribute to Freddie Mercury

The Queen guitarist Brian May has paid tribute to his former band mate, Freddie Mercury, at The Asian Awards in London.

Mr May presented a posthumous award to the singer's family, to mark the 20th anniversary of his death.

Freddie Mercury, who was born in Zanzibar and educated in Bombay, was honoured with The Founders Award, in recognition of his musical legacy.

He died on 24 November 1991.
