Social bookmarking sites allow you to save a story as a favourite and share links to articles you've enjoyed or want to discuss. These bookmarks can then be accessed and searched from any computer.

If you've enjoyed a story on the Telegraph.co.uk, use the share buttons to recommend it to friends or online communities with similar interests.

Each sharing option works slightly differently, so the information below should help you decide which service is most appropriate for you. Each site has different communities sharing and discussing stories. All the services are free, but require quick registration before you can get involved.

Facebook Facebook

Use the 'Reccommend' button to indicate that you like an article. Hovering the mouse over the button gives you the opportunity to post the link to your Facebook wall. Users logged into Facebook will also see when their friends have liked an article.

Reddit

Reddit aggregates stories based on how you vote. Vote on what you like or don't like and explore websites recomended by other users based on your tastes.

Stumbleupon StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon helps you find interesting new stories online by building up a profile of things that you like, and using it to recommend new stories with the 'Stumble' button.

Twitter

Twitter allows users to broadcast short messages to each other and watch a flow of useful information. Use our button to easily post a short link to one of our stories for your Twitter followers to read.

Digg Digg

This website allows users to recommend and vote for stories by 'Digging' them. Use the Digg button to submit the story or add a recommendation. The higher the number of Diggs, the more popular the story. The front page shows the latest popular articles worldwide.
