Two New York State pharmacists were arrested Tuesday for allegedly defrauding Medicare of more than $3 million after billing the federal government for prescriptions they never filled.
"When you are seeing a small mom and pop pharmacy, or two of them in this case, billing for a lot more than they dispense there's an issue usually with that," said Tom O'Donnell, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS-OIG) Office of Inspector General/Office of Investigations' New York Regional Office which conducted the investigation and carried out the arrests.

Gunwalker scandal a "perfect storm of idiocy"
Update, 2:40 p.m.: The special agent in charge of the Phoenix ATF office during gunwalking scandal, Bill Newell, testified early this afternoon that he discussed the program with a White House staffer.
Newell said he talked to his friend, Kevin O'Reilly, who is listed the White House's Director for North America at the National Security Council.
In advance of a hearing later today, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released a report containing new testimony and allegations in the ATF gunwalker case. According to the report, Carlos Canino, Acting ATF Attache in Mexico, calls the strategy his agency employed: "The perfect storm of idiocy."
"We armed the [Sinaloa] cartel," Canino told investigators. "It is disgusting." Canino will be a key witness at the hearing.

Updated July 25: This story was updated to reflect the subsequent retraction of the bombing claim by Helpers of Global Jihad and the arrest of the 32-year-old Norwegian man, identified as Andres Behring Breivik, a right-wing zealot who took credit for the atrocities, calling for a war against Muslims.
A group called "Helpers of Global Jihad" claimed responsibility for the bomb which ripped open buildings, including the prime minister's office, in Norway's capital, CBS News learned, and then retracted the claim.
