- why is this story in our US press, do we care? but i will say israel has not looked so weak since they got their butts kicked in 2006, and the US taxpayer had to pay for all the damage they did in lebanon

- I remember feeling sick to my stomach with pity for Shalit and his family when he was taken years ago. But releasing him in exchange for over 1000 terrorists? Tell me: after this, how much farther can our alliance with and support of Israel be stretched? If Israel does not stand firm against it's attackers, why and how should the U.S?

- In this exchange there are no 'winners' in Israel and as much grief the families of the victims feel, one that is still alive must be rescued. Israel does not have the suicide mentality that the Arabs practice. Life is dear and if the terrorists would recognize the existence of the nation established by the League of Nations after WW1 and confirmed by the UN and the attempt to bring peace by President Clinton and Barack at camp David but rejected by Arafat so he could steal $3Billion from his own there would be peace and the land would 'flow with milk and honey' Can anyone say apocalypse or Armageddon.
- We have no business in the Middle East. Let them all kill each other in the name of their religions, and let the US - a secular society - stay out of such madness.
