Alexis Christoforous is an Emmy-nominated MoneyWatch correspondent and anchor for CBS Newspath, the affiliate news service, covering business and consumer news.

Her reports have been featured on "The Early Show," "CBS Evening News" weekend editions, WCBS, the CBS-owned local news affiliate in New York, and over 200 CBS affiliate stations internationally. Her reports can also be heard on the CBS Radio Network and NewsRadio 880 in New York. Christoforous was also the anchor for the nationally syndicated program "CBS MarketWatch Weekend".

Christoforous began her "business news" career at Bloomberg Television and Radio in 1993 where she anchored the national PBS program "Bloomberg Morning News" and was Bloomberg's first correspondent to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

She has covered a series of global economic stories over the past 18 years including, most recently, a series on "Unemployed in America" and "The Great Recession". She earned an Emmy nomination for her in-depth report, "Inside the NYSE". She's covered the tech boom of the late 90s and the subsequent bust, the Enron and Worldcom scandals and the U-S banking collapse of 2008. In addition, Christoforous has interviewed an array of politicians and CEOs of major corporations including President Bill Clinton, Warren Buffett and Henry Kissinger.

Christoforous is also very active in her community. She is on the board of the Hellenic Times Scholarship Fund and gives of her time to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She helped to narrate the award-winning children's book series, "Loukoumi" and is participating in a children's celebrity cookbook that is set for release this Fall.

A native New Yorker, Christoforous is a graduate of Performing Arts High School where she studied theatre and is still an avid supporter of the arts. Alexis went on to graduate cum laude from New York University with a bachelor's degree in English and Journalism. She has also taught a broadcasting seminar at NYU. She resides in Manhattan with her husband and their three children.
