Pa. man allegedly grew pot at ex-country club

(AP)  NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Authorities say a central Pennsylvania man ran a large-scale marijuana growing operation at a defunct Philadelphia-area country club.

Investigators say 48-year-old Charlie Patterson, of Gardners, cultivated the marijuana plants on the overgrown grounds of the former Cedarbrook Hill Country Club in Cheltenham.

KYW-AM (http://cbsloc.al/pn1ovk ) reports prosecutors say a raid on the Montgomery County property recovered 260 plants in various stages of maturity. Authorities say they also recovered various tools and an irrigation system.

Patterson was charged earlier this month and had his bail set at $15,000 at a hearing on Wednesday. Online court records don't list an attorney for him.
