MPs are taking part in a debate on the UK's chairmanship of the the Council of Europe.

On 7 November Britain will begin a six-month role as chair of the Council of Europe.

The Council of Europe, based in Strasbourg, has 47 member countries and is an entirely separate entity from the European Union.
