Taiwan's export growth slows down
Taiwanese exports are under pressure due to falling demand from key markets such as the US, Europe and China.
The island nation will release the numbers for September on Wednesday. In August, exports grew at an annual rate of 7%, the slowest pace of growth in nearly two years.
But government officials said there is no need to panic as the economy is not expected to see the kinds of plunges in exports seen during the 2008/9 recession.
However, the government has lowered its economic growth forecast for this year to 4.8% from 5%.
