Ever considered suicide? You have lots of company. A new government survey shows that 8.3 million Americans age 18 or older had serious thoughts about suicide in the past year. Eight million? That's almost 4 percent of the population. And the survey - based on data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia from 2008-2009 - shows that suicidal thoughts are a lot more common in some parts of the country than in others.
