What kind of plane is it? Who designed a button layout that would allow for such an incident? All planes are not designed the same....

Nor are all human brains. If you had half of a brain, you would still only have half a brain.

The title of the article says it was a 737 and the article says a 737-700. I guess you can not read.

What a freaking nightmare for passengers! OMG. I can't even imagine what it was like to be on that plane and almost upside down. I mean really guys- you don't know the difference between the button to unlock the door and the rudder control? Scary! And that plane almost rolled upside down! How can that even happen? I mean once you see you have made a mistake you immediately undo the action and correct. How can it get to the point where the plane is upside down? ANA needs to seriously review it's pilot training program!

Sounds like fun :) And yeah, the first comment tells the story in a way that sounds plausible.

Oh dude, why do you even bother with a news site. Just head on over to Drudge, he agrees that nothing happens outside of the country.

To have accidentally "bumped" the rudder control would be one thing, and bad enough, but "mistakenly hit the rudder controls instead of the door lock..." Send this guy back for more training.

Door latch...rudder control...they all look alike to me.
by PatDaddy67 September 29, 2011 1:13 PM EDT
This is interesting to me because the rudder (yaw) is controlled by foot pedals, not by a switch.
by VulcanM September 29, 2011 4:51 PM EDT
The rudder is controlled by the foot pedals in most modern aircraft large and small. The rudder trim is controlled by a knob.
