The liberal Egyptian Bloc officially launched its parliamentary electoral campaign Tuesday evening at the 5-star Shepherd Hotel in downtown Cairo.

The Bloc is comprised of three political parties: the liberal Free Egyptians, the Egyptian Social Democratic Party and the leftist Tagammu Party.

The Bloc has agreed on a unified campaign slogan: "Together, we will achieve what is ours".

Refaat El-Said, head of the Tagammu Party, used his remarks in the event to accuse the Muslim Brotherhood of conspiring to monopolise political power.

Hani Seri El-Din, the head of the Free Egyptians Party, stressed that the three-party alliance is only a first step in a long term strategic alliance between the country's liberal forces that aims to fight for a democratic country based on full equality between all citizens and a socially-oriented market system.

The parliamentary elections kick off on 28 November.
