Tunisia Live is keeping a live-updated table of results as they come in from the election commission. So far, it appears that al-Nahda has won 35 out of 81 seats announced.

The CPR has 13 seats, Ettakatol 9 and Aridha Chaabia 10.

People are gathered outside al-Nahda's headquarters in Tunis' Montplaisir suburb, celebrating. As opposed to the flames seen in December and January, when citizens took to the streets to force President Ben Ali from office, these flames appear to be of joy, rather than anger.  [Al Jazeera/Yasmine Ryan]

Yusra Ghannouchi, one of the daughters of the leader of al-Nahda, spoke to Al Jazeera minutes after the electoral authority released preliminary official results giving al-Nahda a lead in all five constituencies:

We have results that have reached us from the official reports coming since yesterday and from our own observers on the ground, but as we said in yesterday’s press release, we’ve been waiting for the official announcement.

We’ve just had an official announcement for five constituencies, and al-Nahda is the first in all those constituencies, with various percentages, mostly from 30 to 45 per cent in these constituencies.”

The Associated Press reports that al-Nahda has won 18 out of 44 seats so far in the constituent assembly, citing the election commission's partial results.
