The FSAP, in conjunction with Employment Services, periodically holds Drug-Free Schools and Communities trainings which educate employees on issues related to drugs and alcohol in the workplace, including spotting a substance abuse problem in oneself or in others, helping someone who has a drug or alcohol problem, and the University policy on drugs in the workplace.

Those who suffer from drug and/or alcohol addiction face major obstacles to succeeding in life -- let alone in the workplace.  Drug and/or alcohol addiction impedes one's ability to learn and to work.  Unfortunately, because the disease is characterized by denial, many who need treatment do not request it.

Here at Georgetown University fingers are not pointed, instead, a helping hand is offered.  We hope the above referenced information will prove to be beneficial to you, your family, and co-worker.
