(S.D.N.Y.) – Five of the largest U.S. book publishers engineered a price-fixing scheme with Apple Inc. to ensure eBook prices remained above the retail price ceiling, forcing retailers out of the market, a class action suit alleges.

(Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook County) - Motorola Mobility Holdings hired away a technical employee from competitor Lemko Corp. and then tasked the employee with responsibilities that would require her to reveal Lemko’s trade secrets, according to a lawsuit filed in a Chicago court.

INSURANCE - In re Oil Spill by the Oil Rig Deepwater Horizon

(E.D. La.) - A federal judge has rejected BP's bid for access to $750 million of insurance coverage issued to oil rig owner Transocean Ltd. to pay for costs stemming from last year's record oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

ASBESTOS - Kurns et al. v. Railroad Friction Products Corp.

(U.S.) - The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument on the question of whether a federal railroad safety law preempts asbestos-injury tort claims based on state law.
