Portugal heads for strike over budget cuts

A general strike is expected to shut down many public services and disrupt mass transit systems in Portugal as workers protest against austerity measures linked to a 78bn euro, or $104bn, bailout.

The recession in the country is predicted to be deeper than any other eurozone member, including Greece.

Al Jazeera's Barnaby Phillips reports from Lisbon.
