The remaining Paralympics tickets for 2012 go back on sale on Friday with the possible chance to see Oscar Pistorious and Britain's David Weir in action.

The sale window opens at 1pm with tickets being sold on a "first come, first served" basis.

They will remain on sale until 6pm on 6 February 2012 or until they sell out.

One and a half million Olympic football tickets went back on sale on Tuesday, with some men's matches at Wembley selling out within hours.

More than one million of the two million Paralympic tickets have already been sold with none remaining for track cycling and the marathon.

Seats have also sold out for wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis, but there is still a chance to see sports these with an Olympic Park day pass, which have good availability.

Day passes at the Excel Centre also offer the chance to see a variety of sports including powerlifting, sitting volleyball and wheelchair fencing.

Seats are still available for athletics, wheelchair basketball, swimming and equestrian events after the first round of sales in a ballot.

Pistorius is expected to compete against American rival Jerome Singleton in T44 sprinting events over 100m on Thursday 6 September, 200m on Sunday 2 September and 400m on Saturday 8 September.

Ellie Simmonds Ellie Simmonds competed at the Beijing Paralympics at the age of just 13

Weir won gold in Beijing in 2008 in the T54 800m and 1,500m but will have to beat world-record holder Marcel Hug to repeat that on Thursday 6 September in the shorter distance and Tuesday 4 September in the longer one.

British swimmer Ellie Simmonds could be chasing a gold medal in the S6 50m, 100m freestyle and 200m medley on 4, 8 and 3 September while compatriots Sam and Oliver Hynd face each other in the S8 200m medley on Wednesday 5 September and 400m freestyle on Friday 31 August.

Tickets are available on each day of the Paralympics, which run from 29 August to 9 September.

Payment for Paralympic tickets will be taken immediately, unlike the first two application and ballot systems for the Olympics and Paralympic Games.

Tickets can be bought online or by phone on 0844 847 2012.

Paul Deighton, chief executive of Games organisers Locog, said: "Those who get hold of one of these remaining tickets will get the chance to witness amazing athletes and sport like never before during what will undoubtedly be a time of extraordinary pride for our nation."

After the current sale of Olympic football tickets, further tickets for the Olympics will be released in April 2012.

Locog estimates that up to one million more tickets will be made available as the exact number of seats becomes clearer from contingency, returns and the fitting out of venues.

Ticket allocation for the Olympics earlier this year angered thousands of members of the public who were left empty-handed as the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics and cycling sold out.
