Shane Williams scores last try for Wales

The Ospreys have offered Shane Williams the chance to finish his career with them at the end of the 2013-14 season.

Wing Williams, 34, signed off from Wales duty with an injury-time try in Saturday's 24-18 defeat by Australia.

His Ospreys contract expires at the end of the 2012-13 season, but he says they have offered him a further year.

However, Williams is unsure if he wants to be playing until he is 36. He said: "I'm sure in two years' time that I'd like to be doing other things."

Williams became an Osprey when his former club Neath merged with Swansea in 2003 after Welsh rugby launched regional sides.

Despite interest from clubs in France, Williams has remained with the Ospreys and, in the wake of his emotional Test exit, will see out his playing days at Liberty Stadium.

Beyond that, the 87-times capped Welsh international and double British and Irish Lions tourist hopes to maintain an involvement with the region for the rest of his life.

Tearful Williams says thank you to Wales fans

Williams has already expressed a desire to become a coach and has spoken to Ospreys managing director Mike Cuddy and elite performance director Andrew Hore about his post-playing career prospects.

"I've got this season and next season left in my playing contract," said Williams.

"I've already been offered an extension to stay another year, but I think realistically two years will be where I want to be.

"You can never say never, but I'm sure in two years' time that I'd like to be doing other things.

"And I have spoken to Mike and Andrew about remaining with the Ospreys for as long as I possibly can - for life if I could.

"But it's like a family to me - whether that's on the coaching side of things or the commercial department.

"I'd love just to have the involvement with the Ospreys for the foreseeable future because I do love it here."
