- Sunderland 2-1 Blackburn Rovers: Having been out of the game for 16 months, Martin O'Neill takes charge of Sunderland for the first time. If his side lose, they will drop into the relegation zone and Blackburn will climb out
- Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson will be looking to make amends after his penalty miss in the previous game against Wolves, but it's the masked-man Simon Vukcevic who stoops low to head Blackburn into the lead
- Minutes late, the home side should equalise after Jason Lowe (left) makes a mess of a clearance but former Manchester United man Kieran Richardson cannot capitalise as Paul Robinson makes a tremendous save
- Sunderland push Blackburn further and further back as the second-half goes on, and get a deserved equaliser through David Vaughan's (left) piledriver after Richardson cracks the woodwork
- Larsson goes from villain to hero this week as he curls in a beautiful free-kick late in injury-time. Contrasting fortunes for the managers as O'Neill begins his reign with a win as the pressure mounts on Steve Kean
- The victory comes as a huge relief for Sunderland who pick up only their third win of the Premier League season. Blackburn, though, are in deep trouble, four points away from safety
- Stoke 2-1 Tottenham: Peter Crouch is one of four former Tottenham players in the Stoke squad who feature in the match. The in-form visiting side can show serious title credentials if they get three points at the Britannia
- It's a former Spurs combination that gives the home side the lead as Crouch causes all sorts of problems for the Tottenham backline before Matthew Etherington sweeps a cut-back into the net
- Etherington is proving to be a thorn in Harry Redknapp's side. Ryan Shotton does his best impression of Rory Delap with a long throw into the box, which is flicked on by Jonathan Walters for winger Etherington to slot home
- Having been anonymous for most of the game, Emmanuel Adebayor shows the mark of a top striker by stepping up to slot home a penalty after Luka Modric is tripped in the box by Stoke's Glenn Whelan
- Adebayor has the ball in the net again but the goal is wrongly disallowed for offside and Spurs should be given a penalty after Ryan Shawcross (left) handles on the line but referee Chris Foy waves the appeals away
- The visitors are then given a red card. Younes Kaboul impedes Jonathan Walters and duly receives a second yellow card. Spurs are unable to find the leveller and their 11-match unbeaten run comes to an end
