Arabic Major Finds Georgetown After Marine Corps
Arabic Major, Christina Humphrey discusses her trajectory from the Marine Corps to the Georgetown Arabic program: “My focus was to get into a really good Arabic program, and Georgetown has the oldest undergraduate Arabic program in the country. I did a lot of research on the professors in the Arabic department, and they’re phenomenal,” Humphrey said. “If you want to be successful, you put yourself around the best, and that’s really what I felt that Georgetown has.” Humphrey plans to pursue a career in the oil industry, which would put her in frequent contact with the Middle East. “If you know the language or you know the culture, it allows you to create a more intimate relationship—be it a mission [or] humanitarian work.” Read the full story here.
