Prince Hassan attends Havel’s funeral

PRAGUE — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Prince Hassan, accompanied by HRH Princess Sarvath on Friday attended the state funeral of former president of the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel in Prague.
The funeral was also attended by several world leaders.
Havel, a playwright and statesman who was known as a national figure and for his broad interest in culture, passed away on December 18 at the age of 75, due to various complications after a history of heart and lung problems.
Havel was the architect of the anti-communist Velvet Revolution, the last president of the former Czechoslovakia (1989-1992), and the first president of the Czech Republic (1993-2003).
