'Over 30 killed' in Syria protests, say activists

Help

Syrian troops are reported to have clashed with tens of thousands of demonstrators.

Activists say more than 30 people have been killed - they say security forces fired nail bombs and tear gas into the crowds to try to disperse the protesters.

Demonstrations are taking place across Syria, as Arab League observers spend their fourth day in the country.

The BBC's Jon Donnison is monitoring developments from Beirut.
