‘I am not afraid to die. I am afraid to lose the battle!’ We will win or we will die trying. Win what, you may ask? Freedom? Freedom to do what? This is where I feel the role of civil society fills in the blank. Freedom is not purely freedom from unjust persecution and rampant corruption. It is the ability to make a difference and solve problems and find a road that both unites us and rewards us for that unity. Libyans are awakening from a horrible collective coma full of torment and nightmares.
