when you do see advertisements on al jazeera, notice they are for things like their state-owned aluminum smelting industry or natural gas industry. In Qatar these resources fund independent journalism and benefit all people of the world, whereas in America, our resources line the pockets of a few while our infrastructure crumbles and our media serves private interests

@Zionismis - AlJazeera is not run by the Qatari government, it is merely funded by the state. In the same way, PBS and NPR in the US are state-funded. Actually it's this funding that gives networks like this the freedom to remain (relatively) objective without becoming influenced by their advertisers. I'm not saying AJ is perfect, but it is a good source of objective facts and information in the vast desert of journalism which is American media.
