Stefan Fule, the Enlargement commissioner is to urgently fly out to Skopje, in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) as the country's crisis deepens. He will be accompanied by former European Parliament president, Jerzy Buzek MEP and Richard Howitt MEP, the Rapporteur on FYROM.

New Europe has been told that the mission will "bang heads together" to try to end the political stand off between FYROM's VMRO-DPMNE government and the opposition Social Democrats (SDSM) in the country that is threatening to derail their ambitions to join the EU.
