WUURD Back to top
Much like the Symposium, the online journal provides an outlet for students to exhibit their work. We would like to make it clear that we hold no copyright on the articles; students are free to publish elsewhere. We will reserve the right to edit the articles for grammar and length, but always in close collaboration with the student. We are currently accepting submissions for 3000 word articles. Please follow all guidelines.
For samples of previous articles in WUURD, please check our online version by clicking here.

Undergraduate Research Awards Back to top
To promote outstanding undergraduate research, the office offers financial support in the form Undergraduate Research Awards. Past award amounts have ranged from $500-$4000. Undergraduates from all academic backgrounds involved in research are welcome to seek nomination from a faculty mentor. Note that awards are not typically given to students doing research during the academic year when they may receive academic credit for their work. Academic year awards may be given to fund conference or other travel and are accepted on a rolling a basis. Please contact the OUR if you intend on submitting a conference travel award application and for additional information regarding research funding during the academic year.
Deadlines for SUMMER RESEARCH AWARDS in non-Life Science fields are March 1st. (Research in the Life Sciences is funded through the SURF program, see below). For examples of previous research awards click here.
Students seeking Summer Undergraduate Research Awards should follow the instructions provided in the Undergraduate Research Award nomination packet.

Summer research in any field of Life Science on the Danforth or Medical School campuses is supported through the SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) Program.

If you are an instructor and would like to nominate a student for an undergraduate research award, please complete and return the faculty mentor nomination form along with a letter of recommendation.
