The results of Giza’s fourth constituency have been announced as two Al-Nour Party candidates will be vying for as many seats in the runoffs of the parliamentary elections’ second round.
Independent candidate Mohamed Abdel Monem El-Sawi will be vying with Al-Nour’s Mohamed El-Semelawi for a professional seat.
El-Sawi and El-Semelawi received 31 and 16 per cent respectively of the votes by the end of the second round.
Over the workers’ seat there will be a competition between Abdel Salam Beshandi, the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) with Al-Nour’s Ismail El-Edami.
Beshandi got 42 per cent of the votes while his Al-Nour competitor got 22 per cent.
Meanwhile, the list of the FJP came first with 181,000 votes, 65,000 ahead of second-placed Al-Nour.
