3rd Thursday at Seattle Design Center

Tuesday December 27, 2011

Kick off the new year with some new information. Designers in the Seattle area, mark your calendars for the January installation of Seattle Design Center's 3rd Thursday events designed to improve overall wellbeing and provide you with CEU credits in the process.

The first seminar, Focusing Light on Sleep, takes a look at how "seemingly unrelated aspects of our lives, such as performance, productivity, learning, weight gain/loss, and overall health, have all been linked with environmental factors and the quality of a good night's sleep." The session will help you understand the cycle of how your daily surroundings, including interior environments, influence how well you sleep at night and how sleeping well then influences your entire day.

The second session, Designing with Light and Sound for Human Wellbeing, will dive into the latest reports and research projects that have studied the effects of light and sound on the brain and discuss how this will influence the future practice of interior design.
