Are you itching and scratching yet?  It's late November already, and that means winter is on the horizon.  It's been relatively mild to date where I live, but I know that some of you are digging your way out of snow already.

With the cold, dry winter air comes horribly dry skin for many.  You don't have to go through winter itching and scratching though. Check out our 28 Tips for Dry Skin in Winter to get a head start on keeping your skin comfortable this winter.

This is one of those "do as I say, not as I do" moments. I have a bad skin care habit and although I've tried to break it, it continues to be a problem. I know we all have bad skin habits and mine is hot, hot baths and showers. I like my water so hot that my skin turns red and my mirror steams up instantly. And while it feels good for the moment, my skin is left parched.

I should know better, right? And I do!  I'm a die-hard bath fan, especially in the cold winter months. I recently tried a lukewarm bath in order to be more gentle to my skin, but because I'm so used to scalding hot baths, it felt cold and I couldn't wait to get out.

Our latest review is of a product called Waxelene. (compare prices) It's a soy butter/beeswax product that is marketed as "The Petroleum Jelly Alternative." (Vaseline is Petroleum Jelly.)  It's all-natural, contains only 4 ingredients and claims to be able to do all of the things that Vaseline can do.

The product is thick and creamy and works wonders on our dry lips and cracked cuticles.  We're definitely going to make use of the product this winter when we're itching and scratching in our wintery, dry skin.
