St. Louis Zoo Has Job Openings

The St. Louis Zoo is hiring for the 2012 spring and summer season. The Zoo is holding a job fair to meet with prospective employees. The Zoo is looking for railroad conductors, groundskeepers, gift shop attendants, parking attendants, food service workers and more. There are weekday and weekend hours available. Eagle Watching at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge

The bald eagles are back in the St. Louis area, returning to their winter home along the banks of the Mississippi River. Everyone has a great chance to see some of the majestic birds this weekend at Eagle Days 2012 at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. Spotting scopes will be set up along the bridge for good viewing. The World Bird Sanctuary will also be on hand giving eagle talks and demonstrations. Everyone is urged to dress for the weather, but there will be a warming tent with activities for kids as well.

Eagle Days is Saturday, January 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday January 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge located near Riverview Drive just south of I-270.

Eagle Days is just one of many events going on in St. Louis this weekend. Families can also enjoy some outdoor fun at the Loop Ice Carnival. Baseball fans will be heading downtown for the Cardinals Winter Warm-Up. And, Monday is filled with events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This weekend, the nation takes time to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. MLK Day is a federal holiday commemorating Dr. King's birthday. St. Louis will pay tribute to the great civil rights leader with marches, celebrations and other observances. One of the most popular local events is a ceremony and march at the Old Courthouse in Downtown St. Louis. Other events are taking place at chuches and universities throughout the area. See the St. Louis Cardinals World Series Trophy!

St. Louis Cardinals fans have many chances to see the team's 2011 World Series Trophy over the next few months. The trophy is going on tour to dozens of locations in Missouri, Illinois and Oklahoma. The trophy will be on display at U.S. Cellular stores. Here are the scheduled stops for January 2012 in the St. Louis area:

January 9: 3 p.m. - 9 p.m., 12270 St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton
January 11: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., 2503 State Street in East St. Louis
January 12: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., 4624 Hampton Avenue in South St. Louis
January 19: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., 9004 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis County
January 20: 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., 3825 Veterans Memorial Parkway in St. Peters
January 21: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., 2510 Lemay Ferry Road in St. Louis County
January 24: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., 1837 Homer Adams Parkway in Alton
