Working in partnership with broadcasters and journalists in the Middle East and North Africa, we supported the institutional development of 14 media partners in the region.
We also enhanced the skills of over 700 journalists, editors and managers in Oman, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon and Egypt.
The programme began with a month-long course, which covered journalism ethics and editorial skills, and included practical sessions to improve interviewing and investigative skills.
The programme also provided training for trainers and online journalism training through iLearn. The iLearn site included online courses, a message board and the online version of the handbook for journalists.
