AMMAN — A 24-year-old man is being treated for burns he sustained after reportedly setting himself ablaze on Tuesday in Zarqa, official sources said.

The suspect, who has intellectual disabilities according to officials, reportedly immolated himself following an argument with his mother.

“The young man has been in and out of hospital for treatment for mental illness,” a senior official said, adding that he is listed in fair condition at a hospital in Zarqa.
