New Release: Arab Revolutions as a river
A new book by Palestinian analyst and academic Khaled Hroub explores the idea of revolution as a river sweeping way dictatorial regimes

In praise of the flowing river of the revolution against the swamp of corruption, this newly released book by Palestinian writer and academic Khaled Hroub constructs its main argument. The book which subtitled "The River against the Swamp" tackles the Arab Spring revolutions, looking at them through their confusions, adventures and risks as the writer says.
The book employs the idea of revolution as a river that flows, flooding away the existing corrupt regimes as the river floods the swamps. The book's allegiance to the revolution is not a naive alignment, Hroub argues, but rather a commitment to freedom, justice and dignity.
Khaled Hroub, is a Palestinian writer and a scholar and Director of the Cambridge Arab Media Programme at Cambridge University. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction. Hroub is the author of several books, and editor of Political Islam: Context versus Ideology published in English in 2011.
