I just saw this aired on Boomerang and it's a crime what they did to it in edit. The scene where the guy in the balcony is about to drop the anvil on his head got totally edited out, cutting ahead to him being cranked back to full height and the black face gag was totally removed. I LOVED this short and I'm black and it's a shame Boomerang the place for old toons is resorting to editing historical classics.

My absolute favorite cartoon ever. It's great to see this has the same effect on many generations and ethnicities. Tex Avery was just trying to make people laugh. Thank you for posting this in good quality.
Does anyone know if the lyrics of the opera match the actions between the conductor/magician and Poochini? :D
