AMMAN — Industry and Trade Minister Sami Gammoh on Thursday met with Polish Ambassador to Jordan Krzysztof Bojko and discussed means to increase cooperation and commercial exchange between the two countries.

During the meeting, talks covered possibilities for Poland to support the Kingdom in implementing an action plan on Jordan's advanced status with the European Union (EU) and bolstering benefits from the partnership agreement signed with the EU, particularly that the volume of Jordan's exports to the European market is still weak, and the European investments in the Kingdom are still under expectations.

The two officials also reviewed means of increasing trade between Jordan and Poland as well as exchanging investments and expertise in various fields.
They also stressed the importance of holding joint trade exhibitions and providing concerned institutions with all needed facilities to promote products of the two countries in order to provide a better investment environment for the private sector.

Also yesterday, Gammoh discussed with Azeri Ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli means to increase Jordanian exports to the Azeri market to include other products such as medicines, Dead Sea products, clothing, chemical and engineering industries and pesticides.

Talks during the meeting dealt with means to boost cooperation between companies in both countries in order to export Jordanian vegetables and fruits to other countries through Azerbaijan.

The two officials also discussed the possibility of establishing a Jordanian trade centre in Azerbaijan and to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the industrial field.

Gammoh called on the private sector in Azerbaijan to benefit from the investment opportunities in the Kingdom's development zones and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
