Amb. Rabinovich PhD (UCLA, 1971), was President of Tel Aviv University (1999-2007) and Ettinger Professor of Contemporary Middle Eastern History at Tel Aviv University. He is Andrew White Professor at Large at Cornell University and a Senior Research Fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. He was Israel's Chief Negotiator with Syria and Ambassador in Washington (1992-1996); Rector of the University (1990-1992); Dean of Humanities (1989-1990; and Director, The Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies (1980-1988).
