Nigeria’s Ogoni people are taking their fight against Shell to the US Supreme Court. In a landmark case, the plaintiffs are accusing the oil giant of complicity in human rights violations committed against them in the 1990s.

Ogoni activists say the company had a direct role with the Nigerian government in actively suppressing resistance to oil exploration in the Niger Delta.

In this episode of The Stream, we speak to Ben Ikari, an Ogoni activist; Dauda Garuba (@revenuewatch), a development worker; and Elvis Donkemezuo, president of the Bayelsa Youth Association.
