@heomak the fact that he survived and someone else was pushing him is a proof for her that she shouldnt not give up un him until the last minute!! im not judging her i just say i think she just gave up earlier than what she could!! i never want to be in a situation like that but im sure i will risk my life if it is a small chance to save someone else specially my family!! now is time to go and donate some blood ;)
Corrupt officials who are loyal to the Party usually get pardoned. It is always the whistle-blowers who are persecuted and thrown into jail. And now the officials are talking about raising the definition of corruption to a million. Any corruption less than that amount is legal.
@minerva3181 CORRUPTION IS NOT PART OF THE CHINESE DNA..THAT RIGHT THERE IS A IGNORANT STATEMENT..CORRUPTION CAN BE FOUGHT IF THE GOVT STARTS PAYING THE OFFICERS BETTER AND MAKING SURE RULES ARE ENFORCED! THOSE WHO ARE FOUND GUILTY MUST FACE HEAVY PENALTIES TO TEACH THEM A LESSON ABOUT THE SERIOUSNESS OF CORRUPTION. WHEN THE OFFICERS DON'T BEND TO CORRUPTION, THEN THE COMMON MAN THAT HAS A TENDENCY TO ACT CORRUPT HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO FOLLOW THE RULES. IT'S THE SAME IN INDIA & BRAZIL
@heomak Corruption is a deeply ingrained problem in China because even the general public (many of whom are victims of corruption themselves) seems to have accepted this as a fast lane to success, like bribing to get their kids into reputated schools, getting a better-paid job, even academic has a price-tag. Corruption is part of Chinese DNA, how can they fight corruption?
@heomak Tks for yr reply. Nowadays, Party officials are striving to make the last buck out of this complete mess and jump ship to Western countries where they can keep their wealth. That's why they are cutting all possible corners, even in their high-speed railway which is supposed to be the Party's pride. Saving face is not their top priority now, making money is. Yet the central govt is still suffocating the media with iron fist measures (like Ai Wei-Wei's case). This makes China hopeless.
@minerva3181 hopefully the earthquake in tibet & sichuan( part of western sichuan is originally tibetan terriotory anyway) have taught the chinese govt some lesson in terms of new buildings..they need to get their act together if they wanna be taken seriously as a emerging super power(and trust me, the chinese govt wants that).
@minerva3181 corruption is a huge problem in china and hence the bad quality reputation they've developed as a country..if there's a cheaper way to get things done(and even if it means doing things that are gonna be harmful-e.g. tainted milk powder), they're gonna do it to save some extra bucks & get rich from profit...i think more than anything, the chinese communist govt should focus on quality control. they're all about "image" and "saving face" & what better way to save face than this.
At least Japanese schools are still standing after the tsunami. In China's earthquake, millions of school children were buried alive under match-box schools built by the corrupt government. People who pointed this out and disputed the government's casualty figures are thrown into jail, but not one single corrupt official is responsible. That's the difference between Japanese and Chinese civilization. Corruption is still the safest business in China.
