Candidate Obama indeed was a liberal. President Obama is a centrist (slightly left), not a Republican. I don't support him in the least, but saying he's a Republican is just fantasy.
This movement not only is going to create space for Obama to do what he campaigned on (we hope) - it's also about pressuring Obama, pushing him to be more liberal, as well. that shouldn't be omitted.
and how exactly are being a liberal and sponsoring legislation that fucks everyone but the rich mutually exclusive?
