This is a beautiful, heartfelt and very moving film. Thank you to Mr Barnaby Phillips for bringing this story to light and to Mr Isaac Fadoyebo for his courage and humanity. Also worth checking on out on You Tube are other films re: non-American Black people's contribution to WW2: Aunt Esther's Story (Pts 1 & 2) (a Black Londoner who volunteered as a fire watcher during the Blitz) and the fascinating 1943 film West Indies Calling (which includes footage of Trinidad RAF officer Ulric Cross).

It explained in the story . Why full of hate?

You mean Shuyiman? Since Issac could pronounce the name Suleiman, I think that guy's name was prononced me like "Shuyiman", not Sulayman though it might be a version of the name Sulieman.

You should read about the persecution of these Rohingya people in Burma. They are accused as Bengali migrants. They have Bengali blood but their community as Rohingya began in Burma long long time ago under the rule of Rakhine kings.

Do you know that what you called unwanted legacy stated with your King Min Ton driving them out out of their which they came back to when it was safe for them to do so, meaning when the British became the ruler? Get some history education instead of talking garbage.
-
Are you braindead? Bangladesh was formed much later after WWII. That Rohingya family was already living in Burma, moron.

My great grandfather also fought and was injured in Burma during the second World War. He belonged to the 11th Baloch Regiment for British India, which is now part of the Pakistan Army.
This was a very very interesting and emotional documentary, thank you soo much Al Jazeera.

It's one thing when the Brits let this story get buried, it's another when Nigerians themselves dont remember, care about, or celebrate these men. how utterly tragic. thank goodness this doc was made.
