The spring-like conditions continued throughout the week at European resorts with very mild temperatures and clear blue skies, creating many goggle tans. These conditions are far from bad as the snow firms up overnight to facilitate good packed riding in the morning. The sun then softens the snow as the day heats up, providing comfortable soft riding by the afternoon. The advice remains: stick to the higher north facing slopes in the afternoon if this heavier soft snow is not for you.
The general trend for European conditions is for the spring-like conditions to remain for the rest of the week until Monday 2nd April where it all changes. Around this time, fresh snowfall could be on its way that will very nicely refresh the pistes in time for the Easter break.
Revelstoke in Canada enjoyed 15cm of fresh snow on Wednesday, boosting the conditions up high. Whistler also received 25cm of fresh snow on Wednesday and loads more is forecast.
Several resorts on the east coast of America are now closed for the season but conditions remain good elsewhere. The recent mild weather in Colorado made for lovely skiing on sunny pistes.
